Optical edge zone sensor for process monitoring and control of nitriding and post-oxidation treatments of steel
Development of an optical in-process measurement system for determining nitriding layer thickness and edge zone condition. The aim is to demonstrate the system on an industrial nitriding furnace and to prepare a closed control loop to reduce scrap and increase process reliability.
